Mouse Shift/Drift problem

    I saw this in the other thread that was checked as solved, but the only thing that seems to work is un-checking ”Retina Display” in the Graphics settings in-game. It’s automatically checked from the start, but un-checking this seems to get rid of all drifting. The graphics quality isn’t really the same and the cursor looks ”smaller” but adjusting the UI-scale is helping a lot.

It was solved but maybe it has been reintroduced. When did you start experiencing this and what troubleshooting steps have you taken to resolve it? Please also explain exactly what is happening for you and when in the game.

    I recently started playing again just a couple days ago.

    I come across this problem in two scenarios:

    1. CAS, when I try to click and hold the left mouse button to change a feature on the face or body, it keeps drifting the opposite way that I want it to go. Both in regular mode and detail mode. For example, if I want to adjust where the eyes are on the face and want to drag to the right, it goes to the left instead. Even if I stop moving the mouse it keeps drifting to the left. I have to make overexaggerated movements to be able to place it where I want to. It’s the same if I click&hold and drag to the right, up, down.
    2. In game phone camera, same issue but I don’t have to click on anything for it to drift.

    I’ve tried changing mouse, using the trackpad, uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing out my mods folder completely, using different save files, changing display settings, used both fullscreen and windowed. Nothing works to solve this problem.

    I have had this issue consistently for around 2-3 years, specifically with my M2 Macbook Air (2022). Never have any issues anywhere else, it’s only for the Sims 4.

      Thanks for the detailed info, I'm going to add this back into the compiled list.

      Which version of macOS are you running?

      Is your Mac hooked up to a secondary display?

      Would you be willing to start with a clean Sims 4 folder for testing purposes? Just rename your current one then launch the game and a new one will be created with none of your current saves, mods etc. Go into CAS and create a sim, repro'ing the issue by clicking and holding the left mouse button. Move the sim onto a Lot and repro the issue with the game phone camera then save and quit. Please then upload the entire Sims 4 folder to a file sharing site such as Google Drive or similar and PM me the link to download it. It's really important you test as described as I'd like to forward this to QV and it needs to be a clean folder with clean save 🙂
