Playing on a Mac is no different to playing on a PC when it comes to CC.
Make sure it is unzipped and placed in the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder. All CC files should end in .package or .ts4script unless the creator has specified otherwise.
Make sure you have CC enabled in the in-game settings.
