Sims 4 saves not loading in game (mac)

ever since I got my new mac none of my sims 4 saved games are able to be loaded. I have tried validating the game files, I disabled cloud sharing in the origin settings, I noticed my EA documents folder was in the cloud so I disabled cloud sync and moved my EA folder back into the system storage, I looked through my save folder for the sims and made sure all files follow the slot_8bitnumber.save X(.verY) format and I made sure that the game recognizes the sims 4 folders in documents by checking the settings in-game for capture. To my knowledge, I have done everything but throw my computer in the bin and light it on fire but I still cannot load a previously saved game in the sims. it's worth noting that when I get info on some of the files it does say that it was created at the time that I started my new save just yesterday so I honestly have no clue why it's having a problem recognizing save files. If anyone has an idea on how to fix this issue your help is greatly appreciated. I have no idea how to mac so I'm probably just forgetting something blatantly easy.

update: I found out how to do a terminal search for the sims 4 and here are the results

/Users/me:P/Applications/The Sims 4 Packs

/Users/me:P/Applications/The Sims 4.app

/Users/me:P/Applications/The Sims 4.app/Contents/Resources/The Sims 4.app

/Users/me:P/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4

me:P@my:-) -MacBook-Air ~ %

I'm fairly certain this means the only sims 4 documents folder is in /Users/me:P/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4.

  • Thank you for your help, I stumbled on the solution. I don't know why but I decided to drag the sims 4 folder out from users\documents\EA\ and started the game. The game remade the sims 4 folder in that location, then I took all the saved files from the old folder and put them in the new saves folder and it seems to work fine now.

Yep, looks right. Can you list the contents of the saves folder? Quickest way would be in Terminal:

    ls /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Documents/Electronic\ Arts/The\ Sims\ 4/saves
  • the following is the result from entering that line into my terminal

    Slot_00000002.save                Slot_00000002.save.ver4

    Slot_00000002.save 2             Slot_00000003.save

    Slot_00000002.save 2.ver2.    Slot_00000003.save.ver0

    Slot_00000002.save 2.ver3     Slot_00000003.save.ver1

    Slot_00000002.save 2.ver4     Slot_00000003.save.ver2

    Slot_00000002.save 3.ver0     Slot_00000003.save.ver3

    Slot_00000002.save 3.ver1     Slot_00000003.save.ver4

    Slot_00000002.save 3.ver2     Slot_00000004.save

    Slot_00000002.save.ver0        Slot_00000004.save.ver0

    Slot_00000002.save.ver1        Slot_00000004.save.ver1

    Slot_00000002.save.ver2        Slot_00000004.save.ver2

    Slot_00000002.save.ver3        scratch
