Sims 4 won't use my saves folder, keeps creating a new TS4 folder in EA folder

I played the game yesterday, saved it, and today when I launched the game, it automatically created a new folder. When I first launched my game today, my last save file was there under 'Load Game' (in the new folder), but I deleted it shortly after I exited the game.

I've tried repairing the game, copying and pasting the save files into the new folder, renaming the folder with all of my saves, removing mods, renaming my last save file, yet nothing is working.

All of my saves are still in my other folder, yet every time I launch TS4 it just keeps creating a new folder and wanting me to start a new game.

Also, I JUST found out that my original folder with all of my saves is stored in iCloud. The problem is, when I try dragging that folder into Documents > Electronic Arts, it says that the Finder can't complete the operation because some data in 'The Sims 4' can't be read or written.

I'm starting to wonder if my saves are corrupted.

I feel like I've tried everything. No matter what, the game still recreates a new folder every time. I don't really know what the issue is.
