Sims not coming home from work/school on time

Yeah mine just recently started doing this. It's a whole new game as I wanted to start over. No mods, and on Mac. It's happened in a few different families now.

  • They don't leave for work sometimes, they just hang out the front of the house. Then when they are supposed to come home, say the kids at 3pm. They won't come back until 1am sometimes. It happens to the whole household. I have tried pausing it like suggested above and that does work.

    Does sounds like some kind of lag.

    Could you post your specs as asked above ?

    Hi @hogan4567

    I'm moving your part to the mac forum then.

    Maybe someone here can take a better look as I don't know anything about macs

    I'll quote the original OP from the thread you posted in below.

    My sims are not coming home from highschool/work on time. This has happened to me several times. My teen and adult are supposed to get home at 3:00pm from school/work, it's 1:09am and they still aren't back. I have the option to "leave school/work early" but I don't want to compromise their performance. Plus this gives me little time to accomplish their daily tasks once they do get home. While this is going on, things are 'glitchy' with my sims that are home. They are standing around for a long time during and in-between tasks. So they might spend 5 hours doing something that normally takes less than an hour.

    Okay, they just came home while I had the game paused while I was writing about this bug. I had tried to pause the game before to help them "catch-up" but it didn't work. So I guess pausing for 10 minutes solved the problem.

  • @hogan4567  I know you started a new save, but did you try a clean game folder?  If you pull your existing TS4 folder out of Documents and onto your desktop, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Try playing with a family for a couple of days, just to see whether the problem shows up again.  If it doesn't, you can move your existing saves into the new folder from the old one and test them again, if you want.

    One other question. Do you play with Mods? Sounds like a Mod you use is out of date.

    Please do as Puzzleaddict suggests and move the entire Sims 4 to your Desktop. Also, Do Not Delete it.

    @hogan4567

    If it is lag related then you may have your settings too high. Could you please provide the full spec. of your Mac, as detailed here - https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M162

    You will have integrated Intel graphics in your 13" MacBook Pro which aren't great for gaming. Have you lowered all your graphics settings or enabled laptop mode to see if that makes a difference?
