Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only

Hi. I’m so grateful for all of your help.

My daughter just got a new MacBook, downloaded Origin and The Sims 4 and when she opened The Sims 4 and error message appeared which said that the game was already running. Now she can’t even play at all.

Moved your post to this ongoing thread as it’s a different issue to the one you originally had problems with.

When she was prompted to allow The Sims 4/Origin access to the Documents folder, did she click yes or no? The game and Origin must have access to the folders to work https://support.apple.com/zh-sg/guide/mac-help/mchld5a35146/mac
