I bought the game june 2016 and I've never been able to open it, since origin keeps telling me that "the sims 4 is already running" with the errorcode:

I've already tried reinstalling origin and resetting it. I've checked my task manager and it is not running. I've gotten a new macbook (the touchbar one) and it still tells me that the sims 4 is already running. Help me, please

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It occurs if I want to open the game after I played 2 to 3 times and prevents the game from opening.
What happens when the bug occurs? The error "sims 4 is already running" occurs even though it isn't. I can only fix it if I delete my progress which I had to do for many times. After I played like 2 to 3 times, I have to delete everything and that is really annoying.
What do you expect to see? I do not understand what you want from me here.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
I can remove the error so that I can play again but I lose all the progress I made which is quiet annoying.
