Adoption event stuck?

Hiya,

(At the time of me writing this my game is still  running.)

So I'm roleplaying with a three sim three dogs family and I'm roleplaying that I foster them and then the get put into homes etc. So I put one of the dogs up for adoption, and the adoption evaluation event isn't ending and the dog hasn't gone away.. The adoption man keeps doing this loop as if he's picking something up, but continuously.. ☹️ I don't want to leave the game because it won't save and I just did a nice build.
