Autonomous actions get canceled

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Nederlands
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.55.105.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By just letting the game play itself while having autonomy on
What happens when the bug occurs? I have been playing for a while without issues, but then this bug appeared suddenly! Now, my sim will have autonomous actions they want to do, but the action cancels out on its own. Often I can see the icon and then a grey X through it, meaning it gets canceled, but I also hear the sound of a canceled action alone, almost continuously, while not even seeing a new action in the queue (so, it is cancelled before even showing up). I also notice that my Sim can get a lot of impulse for autonomous actions in a short period. It can go on one after the other. Some autonomous actions my sim does do, like putting laundry in a basket and cleaning the bath tub (in 2 different rooms). So I am not sure what the problem is here. I notice it is mostly computer actions they desperately want to do but never execute. I also noticed that when my sim calls a friend autonomously, they do not hang up, it can go on for hours and they can even get hungry and so on. If I tell my sim to do something, they do it, however they now also often complain that they cannot reach something or something is in the way. When I make them walk in shorter steps to an object and then make them use the object while they are close to it, it always works. I have deleted all my mods and cc and the bug still occurs... ☹️
What do you expect to see? That autonomous actions are being executed like before, that my sim can go anywhere in the house and do what I assigned, without problem (where there is clearly no obstruction) and that my sim hangs up the cellphone after a while, especially if moods decay to a certain point.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

  • @Revertica Aaah oh nooo, nevermind! I am too stupid. I spent like 2-3 hours trying to fix it. Apparently I went too overboard with decorating on the desk-surface which is why my sim could not go behind the computer T_T

@Revertica Yea, I've noticed that. If you place some objects on a desk with a computer, it makes the computer almost unusable.

I say "almost" because there is a way around it. There is a flying saucer lamp you get from one job, (I can't remember which one off-hand) If you place it on the desk, the computer then acts weird.

If your sim isn't sitting at the desk, and you click on the computer and select an action, the action will always be automatically cancelled.

However, if you instruct your sim to SIT first, they will sit just fine. Then if you instruct them to do a computer action while already sitting there, then the computer action works fine.

So, I tend to only put tiny objects on desks now.
