Can't get online

Okay, I don't know what's going on. I downloaded the game through Steam as that's my preferred platform. Whenever I try to open Sims I get the option to start online or start offline when I click online I get this to show up:

What the heck am I meant to do??? None of the '"remid" cookies' actually work and I have no idea how else to go online. Anyone know what to do?

    Bekki-77  Did you download any Sims 4 content from anywhere else aside from Steam, or is it possible that someone else did on this computer?  This isn't a standard EA/Sims 4 error.
