CAS buttons not showing up?

So I was playing the Sims 4 before the Nov 7th 2017 patch, and all of the CAS options were there. But, when I updated the game, there wasn't any buttons/options to edit my sims. I do have mods/CC, but I left them disabled when I first entered the newly patched game and there still wasn't anything. I can change the sims name, traits, aspirations, walk style, voice, gender things, and age, I can add vampires and aliens and normal sims, and randomize them, or go to the gallery and randomize a sim from the gallery. I can go onto all of the menus, including the main menu and I can exit the game. I can click on any area of a sim and the game acts like it's opening the corresponding menu for that area, but there's nothing but an empty space with all of the other menus that I mentioned that work still there. But none of the face and body CAS options work.

  • The next patch won't help. You need to update your cc. If the issue is back when you put in the cc, then cc is broken. You need to find out which ones and see if the creator has updated them.

    If not, remove them.

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After removing everything, repair the game through Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • It worked until I put my custom content back in. I guess I'll have to wait until the next patch, because having more freedom to choose what my sims look like without having to spend $50 on a pack that adds one or two new hair choices that look like garbage is better than having extremely creepy and lifeless husks that look like they are from an extremely old Pixar movie.
