Corrupted save files?

So my Sims game has had no issues until yesterday morning. I logged in, and suddenly constant crashes. I noticed oasis had an update, and I did that thinking maybe that would save it. Nope. No luck. The game just kept crashing time and again when trying to go into household game play. It didn't crash while in build mode or character Editing. ONLY when going into household play. I had several mods, which I deleted. Then I copied all my files and restarted the game and it remade those files as it does. And then I replaced my save files. Same thing. Then I Uninstalled and reinstalled the game entirely redownloaded it, replaced the save files... Same thing again. Luckily, I was able to go into build and create to save my characters and custom lots, but still... The save files would not work. I had to restart everything, and then download my shared files (Thank God that worked, I had so much to lose if it didn't). Anyway, the game played well after that.... Until it crashed yet again. I'm worried this will continue to happen. It's not the mods, those don't seem to affect anything. It's just the save files, which I have to remove and start again. Any help out there?

  • @IdaliaMay  Please try playing in a clean user data folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will be created.  You can quit from the Main Menu, then copy one of your affected saves to the new Sims 4 folder (saves go in the saves folder, unsurpringly) and see whether it crashes.  Don't add any other content to this folder at this point.  It doesn't matter if you get a missing objects warning—this is just for testing, and the original copy of your save will be in the old folder, intact and unaffected by anything you do to the copy.

Let me know whether any of your saves, older or newer, works without crashing.
