Hi everyone,
I recently reinstalled The Sims 4 after several months away, and when I launched the game, my save file was completely gone. No households, no builds—just a completely fresh start.
I checked the Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves folder, and all the files there were created today. None of my older saves are there, and the folder doesn’t have any previous versions either. I’ve also checked the Recycle Bin and confirmed I’m the only user on this device. I haven’t signed up for OneDrive, so nothing was backed up in the cloud.
I had spent over 30 hours on that save and had 14 Sims I really enjoyed playing as. I’m absolutely gutted.
Has this happened to anyone else after a reinstall? Is there any way to recover the lost save, or am I just out of luck?

This thread has help on the issue. There is a section there that refers to when you don’t use One Drive but are missing your save games
