@Jennyjk30 As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.
If the game still won't open, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Thank you so much for your help! I did what you said and it was trying to load, the blue first page that loads at first just kept going and going. I attached the report that you recommended, please let me know if you have any ideas.
Gratefully,
Jenny

Hello @Jennyjk30
There was a possible server fix made recently. Can you try again?
Okay so I tried again and was able to open and play a new game. I do play with mods btw if that matters on my old saved games.
Thanks,
Jenny
- @TheSimsDirect I did the correct today. I went and enabled my custom mods when they were unselected from the fix and that is when it didn't work. I deleted any new mods I added from TSR today just in case that was the issue but it didn't help.
so i tried to drag my original folder back into the ea in documents and it doesn't recognize my graphic card and my old saved game is not there. Did i really screw things up?
Thanks,
Jenny
@Jennyjk30 Are you saying that Sims 4 launches now, but your saves and other content don't load? Please first confirm that your saves are present in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves. If they're not, either you moved the old Sims 4 folder somewhere else, or somehow the files were deleted. If you want to search for your saves, here's how (just that one section of the post):
If you find any saves, either by opening folders or from the search, please post a screenshot of the contents of the folder they're in, as in, I'd like to see the save files themselves. Include the address bar, above the list of files and folders, in the screenshot.
HI there,
so I had dragged my original save like we had talked about and then when i got it working again I dragged it back into the ea sims folder thinking I was putting my save back, I know i should have waited for directions.
I included a screenshot, the last time i had saved the original save (my original save was yesterday morning) but I don't see anything until I started playing with it last night trying to get it to work. Here is a screen shot of that search. I did do a new save of a game too i started a new game to play with.
Thank you so much for helping,
Jenny
@Jennyjk30 I can't see exactly where these saves are because the end of the file path for each one is cut off. But what I can say is this must involve two different folders because Windows won't let you have two files with the same name and file extension in the same location. So the two copies of Slot_00000002.save , for example, are both in Documents > Electronic Arts, but it's unclear exactly where they are beyond that.
Is this the extent of the search results? I ask because other than the new save and its backups, all created the night of the 27th, the saves listed are from September 11 and earlier. I hope this is just a partial list of saves and that nothing else was deleted, but I can't be sure of that either going only by this screenshot. If you're having trouble with the Windows search, you can use Everything from VoidTools, which is a faster and more thorough search (and free), instead.
