@rhianna0811 Settings are stored in the options.ini file, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. There are a few common causes of this issue. One is an antivirus blocking changes to the options file; here's how you would address it:
Another is OneDrive syncing your files, downloading a copy of options.ini that has the wrong settings. If this might be the problem, try pausing OneDrive syncing, which you can do by right-clicking the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
The last common cause is that the options.ini file itself is corrupt. That can be fixed by removing the file and allowing the game to create a new one.

Windows comes with its own antivirus (Defender) besides practically all new PCs come with a test version of a 3rd party Antivirus. Please check the documentation and do the steps required for the antivirus you have.

Didn’t realise my laptop came with anything 😂 so I’ve got Norton security ultra, though nothing seems to be flagging up as wrong so don’t think it’s that
