Failed to launch game & EA app launched from diff application

Hello,

So this issue has been recurring for me ever since thursday: I open the ea-app, double-click the gametile for the Sims 4 and the ea-app closes, almost like it'll launch the game, before opening again and saying this:

I get this pop-up and at the top of the screen it suddenly says ''some features have been disabled because the EA app launched from another application''

I have been having this issue since thursday, this week, and have been having it ever since. I have:

-restarted my laptop a few times,

-deleted that localcache file or whatever it was called,

-deleted some cc that i installed before the problem started occuring,

-run both the EA app and the steam app as administrator.

-Repaired the game through steam (as in the EA app it says i have to manage it via steam)

Those were some solutions i read about in other posts with the same problem, but none of them worked for me. I still get that error message everytime. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you for reading this! 

(PS. i do use mods and cc, but i don't think that's the problem because the game launched fine when i had cc installed.)
