Surprisingly, I turned laptop mode on and the game lasted longer than it usually does (about half an hour before crashing) so I'm beginning to think that there's an issue with the computer and not the game; this computer really shouldn't need laptop mode.
@24hours52weeks When I replace a drive I may put the old drive in the new system so that is not very unusual but most consumers don't do that.. If the drives are old PATA drives there is a jumper to configure the drives and may be set wrong. If one is SATA and one is PATA the BIOS may not like that and I would not recommend this configuration. Looking through the dxdiag I'm seeing audio drivers from 2015 and it looks like the drivers are the default driver from a Windows install. These should be drivers that match the the chips on the motherboard. Tried to look up the specs but PC Specialist LTD shows currently out of stock and they show CyberpowerPCs - I would think they would sell their own name brand as their name appears as manufacturer. Are you booting from the old drive? I recommend removing (disconnecting) the old drive and see if that resolve the drive issue. Audio issues are rare and I would have to know the motherboard make and model to advise
