Game wont load past "resume game" screen

I'm not sure what's going on, I can't get my game to load past the "resume game" screen. Once I click resume game it just loads on the blue screen with the plumbob. I don't use any so that's not the issue. I have repaired the game via the EA app, I restarted my computer, my computer doesn't need any updates, I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Sims4 and the EA app. I deleted localcache.package and localthumbcache.package files per the rep I chatted with and none of that worked. I'm waiting for a response back, the rep stated he was sending my case over to their game team, so I'll see what happens from there. Anyone else having this issue?

    FaithMonai  Can you load a different household within this save?  (Use Load Game rather than Resume and choose a different household.)  And can you load a new save?  Please test both, for comparison's sake, and let me know.
