Households edited between 2/3 updates Deleted

I was one of the folks that got the original update before it was rolled back and reissued. I had played for an hour or so on the first 'update', and in that session edited outfits for two of my households. Those two households are entirely gone without a trace after the reissued updates. I had mods not only turned off but removed on 2/3 and the day after so I know they were not the cause. When the first update was rolled back, I made recovered save from my 1/19 save file (which was saved prior to editing these households) just in case, and that is what I have continued playing on. The deleted households are present in my original 2/3 save, but deleted in the recovered save. Too much happened in my current save before I noticed, so I can't go back and repeat all my progress (A new baby, a death in the family, building a new house for one of my families). Are these families just gone forever unless I pull them from my other save and add them back in?
