I can not start my game Sim

@karebare96  Please uninstall Sims 4 with Revo Uninstaller:

• Put aside your Sims 4 folder that was originally in Documents\Electronic Arts (the one with your saves in it) and rename it to something that doesn't include the words "Sims 4."
• Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
• Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
• Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
• Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
• Close Revo, and restart your computer.

Uninstall the EA App with Revo as well.  I don't have instructions for that at the moment, but the process should be straightforward.  Restart again when you're done.

Install the EA App, then create a new folder into which you'll install Sims 4.  The folder should be on the root level of the drive of your choice, for example C:\Games is fine, but not C:\Program Files\Games.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

I am also having the same problem. I have tried all the the fixes i can find but nothing is working. I did try this but it did not work..

@kitzyfried  Are you seeing exactly the same error as the original poster, or something else?  Please let me know either way.

Please also try disabling GamingCenterU in the Task Manager.  Look for anything with that name, or GCUService, or similar, including in the background services list, and kill it before opening Sims 4.  This service comes pre-installed on PCSpecialist laptops but isn't necessary; you could uninstall it entirely if you wanted.  The program is crashing frequently enough to crowd most other errors out of your dxdiag, so it shouldn't be running while you're trying to play.

I got rid of gcu and i am still getting this error message

@kitzyfried  Please create a new admin Windows account on your computer and try playing in that.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account.  Don't bring over any content from your previous account, and don't download any mods or custom content.  Just try to launch Sims 4 and let me know what happens.

If this doesn't work, do you have a third-party antivirus installed on your computer, and if so, which one?  And just to be clear, did you try uninstalling Sims 4 with Revo, or did you use a different approach to uninstalling?

Ok so making a new admin account worked thank you. I don’t have third party antivirus. I did use the revo to uninstall the sims and ea app. 

@kitzyfried  That's good to hear, and it points to an issue with your existing Windows account, for example borked permissions on the Documents folder or one of its subfolders.  Do you still want to troubleshoot the issue in the main account?  If so, please move the Electronic Arts folder elsewhere and try again to play.

If that doesn't help, try running the takeown command on Documents.  You'll use one of these commands, depending on whether OneDrive is syncing Documents.

takeown /F "C:\Users\username\Documents"

or

takeown /F "C:\Users\username\OneDrive\Documents"

Write your actual username for this Windows account (your main one) instead of username.  Since the syntax needs to be exactly right, please copy this command to a Notepad file, substitute in your username, and then copy that string when you're ready to use it.  Hit Windows key-X and choose either "PowerShell (Administrator)" or "Windows Terminal (Administrator)," whichever option is offered, paste the command into the window, and enter.

Then restart your computer and try again to play.

You'll of course apply these steps to the Documents folder your account is using, wherever Command Prompt told you that was.

I tired the uninstall with revo and it did not work, I still got the same error message. I have attached my dxdiag, hopefully that helps.
