I can't open the sims 4

Hello, 

During the last update, the ea app had to restart and to download an update too. It crashed to 0% for an hour, so I took the decision to restart my pc because I couldn't do anything. It began where I had left it and finished the update. 

When I tried to open the game, I had a message that said to uninstall and reinstall the game. 

That I did (it took the night). 

But it tells me now that : "the application failed to read the game license file. We advise you to restart the game in online mode. If the problem persists, clear your cache."

I did everything, but the message still appears. I don't know what to do now !

    Lauandco22  I asked for a second opinion on the other thread, and the person I asked had an additional suggestion.  In case you haven't seen it, make sure the EA App is closed and it and the EABackgroundService are NOT running in the Task Manager.  Click Windows key-R, enter %programdata% in the run box, open Electronic Arts > EA Services, and move the License folder to the desktop.  Then try again to play Sims 4.

    If this breaks another game (it shouldn't, but just in case), you can move the content of the old License folder to the new one, except for the Sims 4 file of course.  It won't say "Sims 4," but the old and new versions of the file should have the same name.

    Lauandco22  This is, unfortunately, a very stubborn error.  I tried to help two other people with the same issue in this thread:

    You can try the suggestions there, but if none of them work, I don't know what else to suggest.  The master thread on Answers HQ (linked in the thread above) doesn't have any definitive answers either, but you can skim it for other ideas.

    I personally think your English is fine.

      Thank you so much for your response ! I'll try everything then... 

      The thing is, I have packs that I paid so if the game is really not working after all, I'd like to be, at least, reimboursed 😑
