I moved my game from on hdd to a sdd, but the app refuses to use it

@Lucksbane13  There are two separate locations for Sims 4 data: the game's program files, which you've already moved to the SSD, and the user data.  The latter is always located in Documents > Electronic Arts, and if you move the Sims 4 folder inside, the game will create a new folder there with no content, which is why it's now not loading your saves.

You have two options here.  One is to move the entire Documents directory to your SSD, which is simple and supported by Windows.  But this is only a good idea if the SSD is internal; if it's external, please do not do this.

If you only want to move the Sims 4 folder, or the Electronic Arts folder it's in, you'll need to use a symbolic link to tell the game where to look:

      @Lucksbane13 When you install the game to another location only the game core files will get changed. The game user data defaults to the system device (C). To move the game user files you need to get the operating system (Windows) to do it. There is an app called symbolic link (there is a gui to make it simple) that can redirect calls to those folders. When you do this DO NOT delete the original folder as the operating system puts an invisible file in the original folder. This is instructions to redirect calls to that folder. I recommend you only redirect the folder you need because other programs use the user documents folder by default.. As this is done by the operating system there could be issues (none that I know of) because the game has no knowledge of this.   hth
