I'm pretty sure you can't place trim inside and I know that you can't add trim on exterior walls that have stairs placed against them, so I don't think there's anyway to do this.
@siddorigin7 I have run into the same issue as @xmbryox in finding that you cannot place exterior trim on the exterior wall with stairs that are up against it (I was just fighting with this process on a home last week and had to give up....) but I have found one situation where I could add trim around a staircase opening. It requires that you expand the opening at least one tile. I have demonstrated it in a video, but please excuse my voice, as I have a cold. https://youtu.be/zukQXiCYkLI
@SheriGR Thank you so much for the tip!
@xmbryox Absolutely happy to add anything that may be help! I get so tired of fighting with where those crazy trims are willing to be placed or not! :eahigh_file:
Actually I figured it out, if you place rooms around the opening and put and exterior trim on those then delete the walls, it then shifts the trim to the only room left which is the opening for the stairs, took a while, thanks anyway comrades
@siddorigin7 Awesome! I tried it the other way around (making a room around the stairs and add the trim to it) bit I didn't try the opposite - making adjacent rooms and adding it. Excellent detective work and thank you so much for sharing your results! :eahigh_file:
