Lighting Broken in Sims 4

After the last patch (i think Nov 7th) I cannot adjust the lighting setting at main menu to anything higher than the low setting.  If I do it makes some objects in the game transparent.  I experiemnted with all the settings one by one to narrow down the problem, and I used to be able to play this game with everything checked at their highest settings....the only thing I can't adjust now is the lighting setting, everything else is at its highest.....if I raise the lighting setting at all the transparent items appear in game.
