Need Help with Buying Correct Computer
Hi,
Im trying to save up for a new computer to play the sims only. Yes that will be its only use. I want to be able to play Sims 3 and Sims 4 if possible. Does anyone have any recommendations for what computer to buy? Or even a amzn. list to build my own? I just know nothing about computers but my Mac can't handle sims 4 and Im tired of deleting my sims 4 files to update my laptop. If you have prices too that would be great. Any advice would be great! Thank you!
Im stupid. Sorry per the comment below I live in the United States. Im looking for a desktop computer preferably not a Mac! I would like to keep the amount close to $1,800, max amount $2,000 unless thats not realistic. I also plan to have a good chunk of CC/Mods for sims 4 only. Not Sims 3.
Thank you.
@nyilah_17 If your only goal is to run Sims 3 and 4, you really don't need to spend nearly so much money. I mean, you could if you want to, but neither game will benefit from hardware above a certain level, and that level is available in the $1,000 range and is even cheaper right now.
For example, I answered the same question from someone yesterday and made this suggestion, among others:
This computer has more power than either Sims game will ever use and enough storage for both. It would also drive a very nice high-resolution monitor, and if you don't already have a model you think looks fantastic, I'd suggest spending some of your budget on a new screen.
If you want something extremely overpowered for Sims games, just because, consider one of these, which also have more storage than you'd ever need for Sims 3 and 4 but perhaps not more than you'd want:

I can also help you pick out components to build your on PC if you're interested. But it's not necessary, and at this price point, it would be somewhat more expensive than buying a prebuilt model. The other option is to get a custom PC from a higher-end builder, which would be even more expensive than building your own, although still well within your price range. I don't see any reason you'd need to; I'm just saying it's a possibility if you happen to want something tailored to your exact preferences.
If you'd like help picking out a monitor, just ask. And please also ask if you have more questions in general.
