Options on screen during game play....gone.

When I start playing a game, everything is fine.  While I am playing, options I normally have on my screen start to disappear.  Then everything is gone and now I have a black screen with a few options in the top right corner.  The only way to fix this, and it is only temporary, is to restart the game.

I have restarted my computer, and this is a continuous problem this evening.  

Please help.  I just want to play.
