I was playing The Sims 4 normally this morning, now it is saying it needs to be "repaired" and every time it downloads and prepares to "Repair" it says Permissions Error and I'm not able to do anything else. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the game and the same problem occurs. Am I missing something?

siren_sway If you reinstalled the game, you shouldn't need to repair. Are you able to play without repairing first? If you're not sure, please try it.
For the underlying issue, it's usually caused by an overly active antivirus. So please set an exception in yours for EADesktop.exe. Set exceptions for the game as well: TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64; or the entire Bin folder they're in.
It's weird. I'm having this same issue. No luck 😕
