@x_minatureI had this too.
You have to download Microsoft Visual C++. It should have been included in the update but this doesn't seem to work for all players.
I went to this page:
https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
and installed vc_redist.x64.exe. That fixed the problem for me and other players. For more information read this thread:
https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/983513/after-patch-game-wont-launch/p1
EDIT: The Microsoft link above is for German speaking players. Here is the English version:

Hello, if anyone is still running into this error with MSVCP140.DLL or VCRUNTIME140.DLL, can you please send screenshot(s) of the list of "Microsoft Visual C++" Redistributables you have installed? You can find these in the list of installed programs/apps.
Tagging @spressler0712 This fixed the problem! Thank you so much!
- crinrict5 years agoHero+@BlueJayDays23 Merged your post with the main thread on this.
Could you please try the suggestion in the solution post. My game won't load at all. When I press play in origin I get the error message:
VCruntime140.dll was not found and msvcp140.dll was not found.
I have no mods/ cc installed. I reinstalled both origin and sims 4 and it still happens.
I have attached the dxdiag file.

Could you try the suggestion in the solution post. @crinrictI updated my comp and game last night and now I get (igoproxy64.exe) every time origin opens.
it says: "The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."
I've gone into my comp system and repaired but it didn't fix the problem.
Any ideas?
it just started after the game update.I also uninstalled and redownloaded origin and the game is still currently uninstalled.

Try the suggestion in the solution post of this thread. I've taken out my mods before I updated the game. When It was finished updating and I click to play it refused to open. Before the update, I've been getting a lot of "last exception" messages in my game notif tab (Idk what that means so I ignored it and before I removed them from the game I had over 200 of these files in the Sims 4 file)
I've taken out the mod/cc files, saves files and tray files and uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game and It still refuses to open and Idk what to do. Uploaded below is the message I get after trying to open the Sims 4.

I just updated my game for the big November update and now my game wont load. It keeps coming up with a code execution error that says: "code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." I also get the same message for "VCRUNTIME140.dll" too. I already removed my mods and tried repairing the game but keep getting this message. I would really prefer to not have to reinstall and risk losing my current saves. Does anyone have any advice? Help please!

Try to download the VC++ files directly from Microsoft. Both x64 and x86 are needed:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x86.exe
https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
Also run SFC /scannow - nucgeekke5 years agoRising Rookie
I have had the same issue. I have reinstalled Origin, deleted all mods, and have done a system restore to prior to the update, at which point the game worked. After updating the sims again, I've got the same issue, so am (again) doing a system restore. I've pre-purchased Snowy Escape and am not going to be happy if I am unable to use it or any of the new features due to the update breaking my computer. (This issue affects other programs)
