I would also suggest trying again with EA customer support, except this time looking for a live chat option. If you don't see it, try this link:
Make sure you're signed into an EA site (this one is fine) before clicking the link and that the location in the lower-right corner of the browser window is set to U.S. or U.K.
The alternative is to choose a "can't login"-related option and/or to continue without signing in, either of which should give you a live chat option.
