Also having this problem tried repairing didn't help. I've only just downloaded the sims on to my computer recently so I only have the one family. I have a mid to high end gaming computer. 

I’m having the same issue, it crashed about 30 min into gameplay then after I restarted it crashed again after about 45 mins back to origin screen.

I'm having the same issues. Won't let me play for more than a couple of minutes.

It also asks for permission to load the game, which it never normally does. It refuses to load the game normally if I just go through Origin - I have to open Origin as Administrator to even get the game started. Otherwise the screen goes black and just shows me at the Origin page again.

Tried repairing, no luck. Tried clearing the cache and moving the Sims 4 folder to the desktop, still nothing.

Really annoying as I just bought two expansions on Sunday, one of which is Snowy Escape.

Edit: No mods or CC installed either.

My game is also crashing, about less than 10 minutes into gameplay. It has happened four times since the update today. It crashes 100% of the time. I have repaired my game as well-did not help. I am on Mac. Hoping this is fixed before snowy escape launch!

Also having this problem. My game has crashed 4 times now since doing the November update. I have already repaired the game on Origin but this did not help. I am playing with an existing save file with no CC or mods.

I hope this is fixed by Friday otherwise I won't be able to play Snowy Escape ☹️ 

My game is crashing too, however it crashes right after the title screen music starts. I thought it was mods/cc so for the last two hours I’ve been sorting through everything, and then I discovered it started to crash without any mods/cc at all. It seems as though ALL of my cc, even unproblematic ones like makeup and skin details are causing it to crash which doesn’t usually happen after an update. :/

I’m going to try playing for a little bit with the mods that I don’t *think* are breaking my game and see what happens. I’m able to successfully open the game with the few I’ve found let me. Just confused why very insignificant CC is crashing my game, like eyeshadow, shoes, eyebrows, etc. Maybe once I start playing it’ll crash like it is for you guys. 

Same problem here. In the last hour I've crashed after 15 minutes, after 10, and twice after around 5 minutes, after the 10/11/2020 update. No warning, the gameplay just stops and the programme closes.
No mods, nor CC.
New PC bought in mind to play Sims 4 after it wouldn't play on my old system.

this thread seems to be a bit hard to help with as there doesn't seem any common factors. Currently it's best if everyone made their own thread, posting the following info

1. Your Computer's DxDiag
2. If you have, the following file: Documents\electronic arts\the sims 4\lastcrash.txt
3. The following file: Documents\electronic arts\the sims 4\config.log

You can upload DxDiag and config.log directly to your post.

For any lastCrash files, either create a rar file and upload that or copy/paste the content of the file to a post inside spoiler tags (the icon next to the strike-through)

I have just had the latest patch for Sims 4 installed on my game but now. my game shuts down while I'm playing. I have shut down and restarted my computer a couple of times but its still doing it. HELP!!

ok Crinrict, i will post my info in a new thread. Sorry i did not read before. I do not know how to upload my lasterror, so i will have to figure that out.

My setup is decent and runs the sims well but its not even letting me open the app.

Same issue. Unplayable at this stage. And don’t want to wait another few months for them to get around to fixing it. I hope they fix it soon. Whatever happened to beta testing a game before putting out new updates? This many people with the same issue means “someone” didn’t test their product before releasing it. Sims is well known for its many glitches. But if it’s unplayable, that’s not acceptable. Please fix! 😰

I would try to Repair your Sim 4. You can do this by going to your Origin Library, Right Clicking Sims 4 and Clicking Repair. It might take a while to repair.

I’m having similar issues. I’ve tried playing with 2 of my saved households. One can’t get past 3:05 am no matter how long I play it. Second save crashes about 5 minutes into the game play. I started a new save file thinking maybe the old ones were corrupt after the recent patch. I had no problems in build mode. Spent about an hour creating a sim and building a small starter home. As soon as I left build mode, about 5 minutes in the game crashes. Sometimes the game continues to run, ie😕now will continue to fall, rain will continue, shower will keep running, but the time stops responding and everyone freezes. I’ve deleted all the mods I had installed before this update. 

This happens to me almost every update they come out with its so frustrating. Makes me not even want to play anymore. Last time this happened I quit playing for a few months I was so over it. I just repaired it gonna try one more time and if it crashes again im done playing. Not even worth it.

I confirm that the game crashes every 5 minutes after last update, I use NO MODS and NO CHEATCODES, I only own 2 dlcs and that's all.
I tried to repair it through Steam and nothing worked, I tried to verify the integrity of the files but the patch was installed perfectly.
I hope in any kind of fix soon.

Arg same. I do have CC but nothing else. It's the first time that my game is crashing after an update. I read about the moving the CC folder out but reading the comments here make me wonder if that would actually solve the problem since so many people are having this issue with no CC at all... 
My crashing times are kind of random... It's crashed like 6+ times since I have been playing this evening but sometimes it was after 10  minutes, some were after 3 minutes. I don't get it!!! 

Its doing that to me too but it won't even let me into the game at all. I've tried everything.

Mine is doing this but only when I'm off my home lot. I can't do the festivals or go to bars. Game crashes every time. No CC or mods. 

Same here, game freezes and then crashes. Also noticed my sims will no longer age up, either naturally or with birthday cake. Deleted all mods, repaired game, made new save file--new save file worked for a while but just crashed the same way. I was so looking forward to this update and now can't even play the game. But it's 2020 and we aren't allowed to have nice things.
