- SweetVirgo233 years agoNew AdventurerWhen I opened my game for the first time in a few days my game looks a bit choppy, window edges & door edges are kind of jagged. I have read a few forum posts on this & tried checking the graphics card & a few other steps but nothing has worked so far. not sure what to do to fix this. I have the Intel Iris XE graphics.
Hey @SweetVirgo23
Im not a Sims player but I'm guessing your AA or edge smoothing settings are set to low.
Can you try to turn those up and see if your issue is gone?- SweetVirgo233 years agoNew Adventurer
@Zeelmaekers This might be a dumb question but where do i find those options? When I go into the graphics command center it doesn't how the games options. In game i have my settings to ultra for everything. I also updated my graphics drivers but it still kinda choppy. I attached the photos to show the wavy choppy lines especially on windows & framed objects in TS4. I haven't played in a few days and I come back to see things are wavy or choppy. I didn't do anything with my pc or change anything but for some reason it looks more off than before
@SweetVirgo23 Some choppiness is inevitable if you zoom in close enough. After all, the computer screen is made of discrete pixels, and any line that isn't perfectly horizontal or vertical will, upon close inspection, jump from one row or column of pixels to the next as appropriate. There's no way to color half a pixel, after all.
Having said that, your third screenshot in particular looks less smooth than it should be. Have you changed any graphics settings in-game lately? In particular, Edge Smoothing should be set to High, so please double-check that setting.
I don't actually know what options are available within the control software for an Xe graphics chip, but I can walk you through changing those if you'd like. Let me know whether you have Intel Arc Control, the Intel Graphics Command Center, or something else installed. If you can't find either of those, right-click on the desktop (just in a blank space) and let me know what options you see that have an Intel logo or Intel in their name.Edit: I've merged your two threads to keep everything in one place. Please post a screenshot of the graphics command center you mention, specifically what you see when you click Sims 4.

@puzzlezaddict I didn't touch any settings for TS4. My settings are on ultra (see first photo attached) - Edge scrolling & everything on high or very high. As for the graphics card for my pc the intel Iris Xe I looked at the microsoft support website and it said to install the beta version of the intel graphics command center if the games option didn't show up in the command center i had on my pc to add games & edit graphics. it didn't help at all. I contacted Microsoft support for the graphics issue, they troubleshooted ts4 & told me to uninstalled the beta version of the graphics command center & uninstall TS4 & reinstall TS4. They told me it would improve the graphics but it didn't. The graphics card (not much to set, can't actually access much see second photo attached) is set for high performance for TS4 but it still looks jagged or choppy. I added a third photo of what my games looks like now my sim when zoomed out or in looks blurry around them ( not only for sims but anything, the view, objects, & sims looks blurry when zooming out worse than before) & with the troubleshoot microsoft did, still looks the same. I also use some setters from simp4sims that made my game a bit better for quality but i don't know what to do to get rid of the jagged lines and some blurriness when I zoom out a bit. It wasn't like this a few days ago, my graphics looked better than my old pc but now it looks worse. Not sure exactly what to do now.

@puzzlezaddict I couldn't add a fourth photo so i had to make a new reply. sorry. I can see the blurriness especially in CAS, around the legs or the sim as a whole. It also doesn't matter what world I check it is blurry when i zoom out or in (photos 2-3 taken in Strangerville in a new unmodded save)
@SweetVirgo23 The control software you're looking for is a separate app packaged with the graphics driver, not the Windows graphics settings. But I don't know what's actually on your computer or what options it has. Instead, try downloading the Intel Graphics Command Center from the Microsoft Store. This should give you more options than whatever is built in.

When you install it, restart your computer, then open the Command Center, find Sims 4, and start playing with the anti-aliasing settings. It might take some experimenting to get exactly the right settings; I can't really tell you which would be best on an Intel Xe machine. Please test with in-game Edge Smoothing on and off—this setting might enhance or interfere with the Command Center settings.

@puzzlezaddict I have this app but it doesn't have the game options (photo attached below) In home it's supposed to have a separate tab for the games section but mine doesn't show for some reason that's why i had the beta version that was recommend from microsoft, which has the game tab but it didn't help at all i didn't see a change in graphics despite tweaking the settings in the beta version of the app. Is there another way I could do this or make that game tab show up in the app or fix the graphics setting if the games options doesn’t show?

I looked at this on the Microsoft website it says that if I install this, it would remove the custom graphics that comes with my pc. I will look into this and decide. It also says in the website that since my pc is hop to check the go website to see if I can update the driver, which I did but the graphics still looks blurry & choppy. The graphics is up to date & it says it is the best one for this pc right now.
