Re: I'm getting the 0xc000007b error.

@ManosP97  Which VC++ runtimes did you download, and did you uninstall your existing copies already?  If you haven't already, please try it:  Hit Windows key-i, select Apps, scroll down to where the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables are listed, and uninstall both the x64 and x86 versions for both 2010 and 2013.  Then download new ones from Microsoft:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

(You can skip the 2013 _arm version, which is for a different class of device.)  Restart your computer before testing the game.

If that doesn't help, please run the .NET Framework repair tool as well.  While sfc should address issues with .NET 4.x, it won't touch the earlier versions.

If that doesn't help either, what antivirus program, if any, do you have installed?  Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@ManosP97  Please run a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files.  Here's how:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, and run the .NET Framework repair tool again.

Restart a second time and see whether you can launch the game.  If you can't, please link the driver download page for your laptop.  I can't be sure I'm looking at the correct one, but you can find it easily enough.  Go here:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/laptops

Enter your laptop's serial number, choose your OS if necessary, and you'll land on the driver download page.  Please link that page here.  It doesn't have any information about your own laptop, just the drivers for your model overall.

I got "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." I haven't restarted yet, I'll keep you up to date.

Ok, so I did the part with net framework and Powershell, it didn't fix it. I'll try installing the drivers directly from the site and update you.

@ManosP97  You may already have the newest driver, in which case trying to reinstall it didn't help.  One of the reasons I wanted to see the driver download page myself was to check the listed driver versions against those in your dxdiag, primarily for the graphics driver but also for other installed drivers that might be relevant.  So if you're still getting the same error, please link the download page, and I'll take a look.
