Re: I'm unable to launch Sims 4 got this error code

@jjsmack84  Please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the Intel graphics driver, as described here:

https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

Use the newest graphics driver (Intel only, not Nvidia) offered for your computer by Dell:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-au/product-support/product/inspiron-27-7777-aio/drivers

Even though it's somewhat old, it may still work fine.  And even if it doesn't, it's still worth finding out whether you get this particular error again or something else.  If you can't play after reinstalling the driver, please post a new dxdiag.

Same result. Attempts to launch, is unsuccessful, goes back to EA app. Error code did not appear.

    Attaching new DxDiag

@jjsmack84  Unfortunately, this is bad timing: the EA App is having some serious issues and lot letting a number of players open their games.  So please check back in an hour or two, or whenever you see an update from EA that the issues should be fixed.

The fact that you're not seeing the previous error could mean it's solved or that the game isn't getting far enough in the launch process to trigger that error anymore.

I'm forever hopeful it will start working again! It stopped working for no reason, maybe it will start-up again 😉

I really do appreciate you trying to help. Already more than I got from EA!

At this point I'm at a loss for what the problem is. I have tried everything I can think of and also every suggestion given to me. EA has been zero helpful. I've played the Sims since forever. I guess I'll have to find something else to play.

Disappointing, considering how much $ I've spent on games and expansion packs...

@jjsmack84  What happens if you try to launch Sims 4 now?  If you get the same error code, let me know; if you get a different one, please post a screenshot or the full text.

Please also look for any new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error with a timestamp that exactly matches the last time you tried to play, as in today, not yesterday when the EA App wasn't working properly.  If you see one, double-click its name, copy the info you see, and paste it here.  If you don't see an error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.  If you still don't see an error, let me know; that's useful information too.

It attempts to launch but freezes up and dumps back into the EA app. No error code.

@jjsmack84  This is an access violation, which is both good news and bad news.  The good news is it's not the same error as you were seeing before.  The bad news is it's such a generic error that it doesn't really help diagnose the problem.

Please let me know what antivirus you use, if any.  If you only use Windows Defender, please disable Controlled Folder Access:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/03/windows-10-defender-controlled-folder-access.html

Move the Sims 4 folder out of Documentns > Electronic Arts and onto the desktop (even if it's a new folder), and try again to play.
