@jenna16203  Try disabling any overlays you have running while you play: Steam discord, that kind of thing.  Disable Origin in-game as well.  In Origin, hover over your username, select Application Settings, then Origin in-game, and turn off the setting.

If that doesn't help, please delete options.ini from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4.  The game will create a new options file the next time it launches.  You'll have to redo your settings, but hopefully the game will at least open properly.

If that doesn't help either, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
