Re: Sims 4 is installing really slow

I don't have the problem with Origin saying it's downloading instead of copying.

It does say copying. My only problem is ... It is copying now for exact 31 hours. And it is still at 3%. It is so frustrating. I already multiple times tried restarting the computer and Origin; starting from the folder itself; blocking my firewall; turning off the internet (my internet is very fast?) Nothing works.

Is there someting that can solve this? My computer has the recommended stats to play this game, so that shouldn't be a problem too.

I'm thinking of returning the game, because this is going to take me more than a month before it's installed, the way it goes now.

Does somebody please have a solution?

Mine has so far taken 15 hours and it's at 21% (1.80GB). It's copying from the disk. I contacted EA help and they made me ensure it was copying and just said to leave it to install, but it should "only take an hour". I wish xD (Case number 14842635)

After sending an error report, my report ID is: 06ec60748000588d

I hope the game works after all  this is finished... =[

Edit: Nooooooooo...... origin crashed and stopped the whole installatrion 0_0.,.. 15 hours... -_-

I had the issue of "Copying" very slow (a few MB per hour) until I closed out of Orgin. It was still running in the taskbar, but for some reason it started going way faster after I hit the red X on the actual window. Hope this helps!

  • Omg thank you so much! its gone from0% to 20% in like 5 minutes! I hope it continues and load so i can play 🙂

1, Cancel the download i.e right click cancel

2, Uninstall Origin from add remove programs

3, Remove and reinsert the Disk it should auto run select

    4, "Run Autorun.exe"

5, Origin box appears click "Continue"

Origin will start to install and "Origin is updating",  (something of 74mb)

Wait for the download / install has finished

6, When you get popup box Update Tool Verified Publisher Electronic Arts Inc click "Yes"

7, Sign Into Origin user email and password optional tick boxes  or Create account

8, When you get popup box OriginClientService Verified Publisher Electronic Arts Inc click "Yes"

9, Should say preparing Install confirm language  wait for disk 2 prompt click Accept

10, Click next to Install Directory and Licence agreement when you have read it tick the box click install now.

    11 It should say Copying

12, your work here is done have a cup of tea or a cold drink and relax wait for the disk 2 prompt and insert when asked dont forget to remove disk one and put it back in the case.

    Enjoy Phil
