  • Updating my graphics drivers did not fix it.

Edit: I also tried starting a new save to see if I just have too many Sims in the world/save file since I have mods that prevents Sims getting culled, more than 8 sims in a household, and triplets/quadruplets and it was still doing it the moment I started a new household in a new save/world.

The card you have is not very strong.

Was it any better on low graphics and laptop mode ?

Have you tried renaming the whole user folder and starting a new save that way ?

  • As I've said, putting it on laptop mode AND having all the graphic settings on the lowest it could be didn't do anything. I'm not sure what you mean by renaming the whole user folder? I just clicked new game.

Not the slightest bit better ?

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • I renamed it Sims4_Backup and booted up my game and made a 1 sim household. It seems to have gotten rid of the not responding part (screen turns white with the bar saying The Sims 4 (Not Responding) but it still freezes for the same amount of time it does for the freeze and the not responding part. I did however find out it mostly did that when I got a notification. Doesn't matter what notification it was whether be a guest saying goodbye or my sim getting a new skill.

    Hi @Nikki942

Did you move them into a small or bigger house ?

Does your original save still give you the issues if you just put that back ?

  • Small starter home.

Yes, I tested my original save on a 1 sim household and I had search for a job and Not Responding came back up when the list of jobs appeared.

  • Did a clean boot and I think that fixed it! Only time it froze was for about 3 seconds in a 1 sim household, tried a household with more than 8 sims (due to my mods) and it hasn't frozen or not respond! I'll have to put my mods back in so I may or may not be back here, but if I don't come back: Thank you so much for the help!

A clean boot is to find out if a background program is interfering, you should not constantly start your computer in that mode.

If it's better with that, see what programs you have running on the background and turn them off one by one. Maybe you have too many running.
