But it says "be friends WITH." "Befriend with" isn't grammatical. If it's supposed to be "befriend," "become friends with" or "make friends with," then it's misleading language that should be corrected.
After some experimenting, I've concluded that the game does not count family members as "friends" for the purpose of this aspiration. That's understandable and probably intentional; I can see the reason for that.
So here's what I've concluded:
- Family members don't count toward the third tier of the Social Butterfly aspiration. No big deal.
- Non-family preexisting friends probably should count, but don't. To fix this, allow the relationship to atrophy (or do a couple of Mean interactions) until the Sim is just an acquaintance, and re-friend them.
- Teenagers (and maybe young adults, haven't tested yet) don't count toward the goal at all--this might be intentional and there's no real fix, but it's annoying because there's no simple way to tell if an NPC sim is a teen or young adult, which is a bigger thing that I hope EA addresses in the future.
