@yahel_1 Thank you for your reply but I have installed those programs multiple times and no matter what the x64 vcredist file can't be installed by Origin. The x86 works fine.
- crinrict9 years agoHero+
Do you always install them through the Origin folder did you try uninstalling them through programs and then re-downloading through the Microsoft site and then installing by double-clicking on the file you just downloaded ?
Can you check for any critical events regarding Origin/Sims: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/critical-events/
Have you tried to give REPAIR to x64 vcredist file ?
Details from EA https://help.ea.com/en/article/your-vc-runtime-package-has-not-installed-correctly-error-troubleshooting/
If your issue persist then the only option is to install / reset the operating system.
I got my game to play, uninstall all old vc++ packages and install the latest ones from windows only, give it a try 🙂
Hi @chocckola
Glad to hear that you solved 🙂 and Thanks!!! as you told us How.

@crinrict Thank you for your reply. I just uninstalled all my vcredist_64 files on my computer and moved the programs to the Recycle Bin and deleted them permanently, so I could start from scratch. I also went to Control Panel/Programs/Programs and Features and uninstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 x64 Redistributable. So right now my PC is clean of this program.
Error upon installing The Sims 4 is now: "Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. (false)"

I have worked on this error the most in the past week or two anyways. None of these errors seems related but here they are:

@yahel_1 Yes I have. But I will try again and let you know.
- Anonymous9 years ago
@chocckola Glad to hear that!! 🙂 I've tried that though, I'm afraid to do it again because all but 1 package seems to be working right now and I don't wanna break the good ones, haha.
- Anonymous9 years ago
@yahel_1 @crinrict By the way all, my vrcedist_x64 file is NOT in my vc2013 folder right now. It's in my downloads. Just a heads up. I feel like it should be, should I put it there?
Yes @sarahthec put it there / RUN IT and restart your PC.
- crinrict9 years agoHero+
You can run it from any folder. It doesn't have to be in Origin.
- Anonymous9 years ago
@crinrict @yahel_1 I put the vcredist_x64 in my vc2013 folder, repaired it, restarted, and tried to install, and I got "Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. {1}". I took it out, tried to install and I got "Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. (false)". Neither seems to work ☹️
- Anonymous9 years ago
@crinrict Do any of my critical events look like they could cause the problem? Thanks again for all your help and time.
Clear Origin cache and for this you get a perfectly detailed post from @EA_Nils >>http://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin/my-origin-will-not
-update-my-sims-4/m-p/4721983#M163410 Restart your machine .
And i think you can try a Clean Boot: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-yo
ur-pc/ NOTE If the steps adove don't work i ran out of ideas, the only solution I can think is to recovery OR reinstall your OS.
- Anonymous9 years ago
@yahel_1 I'm afraid it didn't work ☹️ Thank you so much for your help and time. I'd like to not have to reinstall my OS so I'll continue looking.
We're welcome @sarahthec
Maybe you can try to Reset your PC and not to reinstall your OS.
Rather than relying on system image backups, most people should just use the “Reset this PC” feature to restore your computer to its default operating system state. This also replaces the need to ever reinstall Windows — just tell Windows to reset your PC and it’ll go back to its factory default settings.
Resetting lets you choose whether to keep your files or remove them, and then reinstalls Windows. To get started, go toSettings > Update & security > Reset this PC > Get started and choose an option.
And i wait a feedback from you.
All my best
- Anonymous9 years ago
@yahel_1 I will try that soon, thank you. As long as it keeps my programs and files. It does, right? Also, for you and @crinrict, I just discovered something with my vcredist_x64. I troubleshooted compatibility with it and found that it was an "incompatible program". I have attached the images of the report.
- Anonymous9 years ago
@yahel_1 IT'S WORKING!!!! Thank you so so much!! I Reset My PC and it took a bit to back up my files but it was SO worth it!
