Redeemed expansion packs need 'restart' but isn't working

I recently bought 2 expansion packs of which I had to redeem a code for. The downloading process went well and it states that it's installed on the EA app. When in game and looking into my owned game packs, the two that I have bought say that they've been installed but require a restart to work.

I have restarted it like it said to do, and when that didn't work I repaired the game, checked that my game is up-to-date and made sure I'm logged into the correct account. There's no option to reinstall the packs. I don't think that the issue is from the code provider. I've refreshed my mods, options, saved files, screenshots and tray folder. As usual, when I'd install a new pack it would show the message "welcome to.. (insert pack)" but that isn't happening this time around.

This has been an issue since yesterday and is ruining the experience of playing sims for me. Please help me out.

Note that this issue has only occured after switching from Origin to the EA app.

  • @aaveous  Please take a screenshot of the game's program files.  Since you originally installed through Origin, this would be the default location:

    Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4

I'd like to see the contents of this Sims 4 folder; please note that this is NOT the one in Documents\Electronic Arts but rather an entirely different folder.  Please also let me know which packs you bought that won't install.

Finally, let me know whether you have the Sims 4 CAS Demo installed.

I tried doing as you requested, this is what came up. I do have the sims 4 cas demo installed and the packs that I'm having difficulty with are the Discover University and Get together expansion packs.

  • Would you mind sharing how you fixed the issue? I just bought get together & i’m having the same problem.
