Sims 4 black screen when selecting anything in build/buy

Everytime I select anything in build/buy the screen goes black. If I tab to the desktop and then back the screen will be back but anytime I click anything including options or switching to live mode ...

Yes you should.

Download the Origin client from here again: http://origin.com/download and manually reinstall it: https://help.ea.com/en/article/manually-uninstalling-origin/

Then repair the game through Origin again

I did all that. I still don't see the new tab. When it was in repair the VC++ box came on about the 2nd item to repair but then went away and said game was ready to play while still repairing the rest of the packs.
