Sims 4 community gallery won't connect

Other Simmers in Answer HQ have reported this problem, but there isn't a solution on any of the threads.

I am online in Origin. When trying to access the community gallery from anywhere in the game, I get the message to the effect that "you are offline, do you want to connect?" If I say yes, it says "trying to connect" and after that nothing happens.

Sims 4 is an exception in my firewall settings. I have tried switching off the firewall and disabling my anti-virus protection, but it didn't help. I am over 14 and have a full Origin account. My game is up to date.

Please don't tell me to contact an EA advisor, because they only offer telephone support during office hours for connectivity issues and I can't afford that kind of international call.

    Hi everyone,

If your Gallery is not connecting, please, try the following:

    • Remember underage accounts can't access online services
    • Make sure Origin is online instead of on offline mode.
    • Make sure your firewall or antivirus are not blocking the connection - add the game and Origin to its exceptions.
    • Restart your router
    • Flush your DNS - you can learn how to here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/connection-troubleshooting-advanced-pc/
    • Wait a few hours - it could be there's a maintenance going on at the time.
    • Run the game and Origin as administrator
    • Try to use a different Windows account

I'm closing this thread because it's very old. If none of these steps work for you, or you have any questions on how to perform any of the steps, feel free to open a new thread. Remember to let us know which steps you have tried so far, so we don't suggest the same again!

    Thank you!

    -Mai
