Have purchased the Sims 4 Limited edition and am trying to install from the discs, there are two discs, put in disc 1 and it wants me to create an origin account which I have done and then it starts to download the game??? If I have purchased the discs shouldn't it install from the discs, why are there two discs? I just want to play the game from the disc not from the origin website. My understanding is that with the physical disc installation you only need the internet for the product activation.... can someone please reply

I've just spent about 2 hours on this frustrating issue! Purchased disc version and followed instructions but it kept going into download of game - not install or copy from disc. Looked on another forum and tried a number of suggestions, finally the one which worked was to click on downloading game and select cancel (I had seen that option before but was too scared to go through with cancelling due to message that I'd lose all downloaded data so far).Anyway, cancelled download, went back to My Computer,clicked on DVD drive, then clicked setup.exeTook me to Origin login again, but once back in, I was able to select language and then install.Turns out that even copying from disc is taking a while but at least no where near as long as downloading, and of course not using my download allowance.

i have windows 8.1 and origin and purchased disks. i put in first one then doubleclicked on dvd to start installation because the game didn't autorun screen came up. then a window came up asking for product code then it started to copy from disk if it starts to download cancel that and click start on disk. it start copying game to origin. you might want to try going offline in origin. that has helped for some. after copying it updated and then installed the game. to update game after it is installed right click on game in origin then select check for update.

Yes guys. This is a know issue.
To install from disk you must put the installed file into comaptibility mode for windows XP service pack 3

Im having the same problem! Have you found an answer to it? Also when it starts to down load off origin it shuts my computer down!!?? :/

Hello ecatsstace,
For Windows8 users you must be updated to 8.1 with all updates done.
When this is complete you should be able to install from disk if it does not install from disk, you can only do the digita download.
To do so just redeem the code in origin and hit download.

No only insert the disk when it asks you todo so. Or do the digital download.
