Sims 4 sims [Edit - Admin.] stupid

It seems that the sims in sims 4 are downright braindead. I have freewill off yet they still seem to go all over the house when asked to do the simpolest of tasks. I have them cook on the third floor, they go down to a first floor bathroom to cook their food. I ask them to clean up, they will pick up the dirty dishes on one floor, bypass a sink literally 5 tiles away from them to go to a sink on another floor. Very sick of this game already, and at $79.00 it is a scam to say the least.
