Hi, I have a lot of time put into my save file on Sims and I've tried so many methods in order to fix this to no avail. Whenever I go to load my household, no matter which one, it will go on a continuous loading loop and never go into my household. I have removed all mods and cc, cleared cache, reinstalled Sims 4, repairing etc. I really don't want to do anything that could delete all my progress, I'm just wondering what to do?
Same here. I just reinstalled the game but nothing changed. I did all the things you did but nope, same problem. I realized i cannot play any saves i had since i started play with mods and cc even i tried it without mods folder, but older ones works well even with mods and cc. Do you have saves you played with no cc and mods? If you do did you tried them. I am curious if if its same for you too.
Old saves seem to work, but these saves are different households from well over 6 months ago. Since then my progress has all been on this one save. I'm really hoping this isn't just a corrupted file thing.
Mcmightymole isthatbatman2 Do you get a lastexception when trying to load the save? Best practice is to delete any existing files you have; they'd be in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. Try again to load the save and see whether you get a new LE. If you do, open the file (Notepad is fine), copy the text, and paste it into a reply here.
If you don't get an LE, that's also useful information.
I do not trigger a lastexception when loading into the household. I did when loading into an old save from a year ago, but not the one I'm primarily using. I also removed what needed to be done when the lastexception popped on the old save which didn't fix my primary save.
Mcmightymole Then would you be willing to share your save? If so, please upload it to a free filesharing site (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and either post the link here or send it to me via PM. If you use Google Drive, make sure that "anyone with the link" can view it.
I will pass it along to Maxis, but I don't know whether I'd hear anything back from them. At the very least though, the save would be useful for their testing.
I pm'd the save file. I did mess around with it a little more and it seems like new files work and old files work. Just this one file in particular just isn't loading.
Mcmightymole Thanks, I downloaded it and passed it along. One question though: Are the backup versions of this save as small as the main one? The file you sent me is 11.8 MB, which is pretty small for a well-developed save. Please check the files labeled Slot_0000000b.verX , with X being a number from zero to four. If any are larger, I'd like to see them, and it's also worth trying to recover one. Here's how:

I am still having this same issue. Can’t play old households.
Yesterday when i reinstall the game i opened it with the save file i want to fix and the options part from the backup. I did got a new LE. There is another thing i need to add, my save issue started before i download the update. I last played the game at February 3rd 02.16 am , next day i went offline and thats when the issue started. I have no idea what is the deal. This is LE from yesterday:
