I am also having problems with starting the game. I've uninstalled it and origin a few times. I've completely updated my computer and the game. I've disabled my Sophos Home antivirus and turned off the app scanning to stop malicious apps from running. I do not have any mods and there isn't even a user file anymore for EA because of me uninstalling it. (I copied my saves file so I still have my games).
I've attached a dxdiag file like has been previously requested. I just ran it after a fresh install of both origin and sims 4 with no luck on it opening.
@MottoM16 Please try the other steps listed here:
I know you've tried some of them, but maybe one of the others will help. There isn't anything obvious in your dxdiag, so it's unfortunately a bit of a guessing game.
- 5 years ago@puzzlezaddict Thank you, that link led me to a Sophos specific thread and I found a antivirus that I hadn't turned off. The game launched for me now!
For anyone else that finds this thread first and also has Sophos Antivirus, make sure to turn off the Exploits part of the antivirus, this is what I missed. - EA_David5 years ago
