Sims shower constantly...

I do not even have Eco and after the previous patch (I think it was a few weeks ago?) my sims started showering constantly. I took all my mods out completely, I mean CC and all mods except MCCC. Still had the showering issue. I deleted the tuner config file from MCCC and the problem went away. I set up a new tuner config file and for two weeks everything seemed fine. Now the showering issue is back. If I turn off the autonomy for the "bookshelf" (and I think there is about 5 of them) the showering issue comes back. And not just my active sim but NPC's that come over to visit. If I turn the autonomy on for the bookshelf the showering issue stops. It's got to be some kind of EA bug. Never had a problem before the Eco patch. From my experience any time there is an inexplicable issue it's usually EA.

Ok, First thing, let's make sure you are using the latest version of MCCC.  Should be 7.3.1 for most people.  If you have Legacy, then it should be 6.6.0.  There was a post not too long ago where some oddball issues were caused by not having the latest version.

Next thing.  If you only have 5 options on a bookshelf, then you must not have all packs.  There is one for butlers (I forget what pack added that) and another couple for ghosts (one of those is for pets) and a donate option that comes from Get Famous.  I have all packs and my bookshelves show 9 things you can turn off.  I only have 4 of them turned off via tuner (2 Read Something and the 2 Browse Books).  I do not have the showering issue.  Obsessive behaviors do seem to vary from household to household in my main save.  Right now, it's talk to plants in the garden for me.  In another it was the treadmill.  So I would suggest you play a different household for awhile to see if it is happening in other households or in just the one.

The thing with using the MCCC tuner option is that whenever you disable something, the sims will find something else to do that can be more annoying.  So turning off one thing just leads to something else that sims will be obsessive about and you turn that off and they find another.  The list goes on.  I went through that and by the time I was done, I had so much shut off, it might have just been easier to shut off autonomy altogether.  I ended up going back to default and now have only a few things shut off.  And I live with the rest.

Another thing about tuner, is that it won't shut off everything either.  It was that way all along but especially since EL.  There is a lot of sim behavior that MCCC just can't change.  Things like the hidden thirst motive that keeps sims breaking the queues to get a drink.  Also the EL NAP behaviors don't seem to be controllable by tuner.  And the list goes on.

Since your problem seems to go away for a while after you remove the tuner file but reappears when you turn those options off again, have you tried turning them off one at the time and playing a while before turning off the next one, rinse and repeat.  It might be that only one of the options causes the problem and you just have to leave that one on.

Another thing you can try is this since you use cc and mods.  I have found a lot of problems with my game in the past has been caused by adding and deleting cc, mods, etc.  So what I have found that seems to work for many of those is deleting the localthumbcache.package file, especially if you add or delete a large amount of cc at one time.  The game will generate a new one the next time you play.  Only thing you will notice is that it will take awhile for all the thumbnails to regenerate the next time you go ingame.  Doesn't hurt anything and I have found that a lot of things seem to fix themselves when I do that.  So my advice is if you haven't deleted it since the last pack, give it a go and see if that helps any.

    Hope this helps.
