Sims won't connect to internet/go online

I've had this problem since the big update with marketplace that messed up all my cc and how my library would load (this has been fixed though).

I've tried multiple things, changing wifi, restarting everything (laptop, ea, steam, sims), removing all mods, even waiting 20 minutes just for it to tell me it failed.

It effects both the gallery and the marketplace. I'd like to be able to use at least the gallery (though marketplace would be nice too).

Any tips? I'm open to anything as long as it doesn't crash my laptop lol.

  • I have also been experiencing the same issue since the July 3, 2026 update. I have tried fixes found in the EA Forums when this happen nearly a year ago and I still can't seem to remain online once I have reached the main screen after launching the game from the EA App.

  • DinosaurDuckk amethyst1996  Please clear some Windows temp files:

    • Click Windows key-R, and a run box will appear in the lower-left corner of the screen.
    • In the new window, type or copy & paste "%temp%" (without the quotes), and enter.
    • Now your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Temp folder.  Delete all files and folders inside.
    • If some files or folders can't be deleted, restart your computer (a real restart, not sleep/wake) and try again.

If that alone doesn't help, uninstall and reinstall the EA App.

  • puzzlezaddict Thank you for the solution! Following your instructions to clear out the Temp folder resolved my connectivity issue - I'm back online in-game.
