Sims won't start up (starts and then stops) with no error message.

I accidentally got my last post flagged as spam! Oops! 

But anyway, hello! I made an account just for this single problem I keep having with my Sims game after the updates back in February that made it impossible to launch; I gave up after weeks of trying to fix it. I decided to reinstall it after quite a few months; I updated it and hoped that it fixed itself. But nope.

I used to have an error pop up on my screen when I launched the game, but now there's no error code or anything to convey the issue. When I attempt to launch the game, it crashes when it barely even starts up and boots me right back to the EA App, with, once again, no error message.

Notes below of what happens and what ive done so far.

— Problem/ Result:

|| The game is clicked on and runs, whether it be from a shortcut, the Steam page, or the EA app. No matter where, it gives the same result; it will say that the game is running, and after only a few seconds, around 5 to 10, it immediately crashes and opens back up the EA App.

— What i've done / Extra: 

||The drive I use to put the Electronic Arts folder location at is in a considerable hard drive with about 600 GB of space, which should be plenty for the game's memory and space. Hence, I do not believe it is a space concern.

|| I've uninstalled the EA App completely along with The Sims 4 and wiped the game to a vanilla state; it did not fix it.

|| I've changed a setting when it came to my graphics card; it didn't resolve the issue either, and it no longer is a considerable reason anymore, as I no longer get an error message.

|| I've gone through the files to see if there's anything left in them that could be causing an issue, and they all read to be normal, except the last crash text file, as I don't read code that well and would need someone to evaluate it for me.

|| I checked the EA app, and although it is in a different drive, I don't see a single crash log pop up for the app itself; otherwise, I would've been notified.

|| I do not know if this is a memory issue with the game and not my PC, but I assume it likely isn't since the entire EA folder has been moved to a much bigger hard drive

|| I would also like to add (if this could benefit in any way) that I run on Windows 10 on an older PC; however, it should be compatible with the Sims, as I've played the game on this PC before in December.

I would deeply appreciate anyone who can help; I really want to play this game again, and I require the help that I can get. Please and thank you!

    Quiff553​  To be clear, have you removed or renamed the entire Sims 4 folder that contains your saves and other user files?  If not, please do that now.  I'm not saying you need to delete the contents of this folder, only that it's important to test without it.

    If that doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

    i have tried the first option it did not work i will do the other option now.

    UPDATE: i looked got the complete scan, heres the attached file for my entire text report on my computers capabilities and possible issues. please get back to me asap, please and thank you!

    Quiff553​  I apologize for the late reply; I've been away from the forums for a bit.  Does Sims 4 work if you launch it in DirectX 11 mode instead of DX9?  If you can't get far enough to change the setting, just remove Options.ini from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  (The game will default to DX11 mode.)  Or if you've forced DX9 mode in the EA App or Steam, remove the -dx9 command.

    Hello! sorry for not responding for so long, crazy stuff happened. Anyways, i did the first thing and removed the file you stated, and it has not fixed the problem. The game will still not fully boot up. However i did check my gpu usage when i open the game, and when i did i noticed that it completely overwhelms it and spikes suddenly to 100%. mind you, i can run other much more grueling hardware on it without any issues. my Gpu works just fine with every other application, except the sims. Im assuming it is some hardware IN the sims settings that needs to be changed. However i could be wrong, and it may be my driver.

    If that helps, is there anything else you recommend i do?

    Quiff553​  Since it's been a while, please try again to launch the game, then run a new dxdiag.

    It's not uncommon for hardware usage to spike when a game is starting to load.  Players tend to want loading times to be as short as possible, so the game slams the hardware with as much data as it can manage (up to whatever level the game itself can produce) in an effort to get things done quickly.
