System Specs and Platform Information

 Sims 4 is availble as Origin Digital Version and a disc version. There's no info on a Steam Version

After the inital activation, Origin can be put in offline mode but you can't turn of or uninstall Origin.

OS: Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 

PROCESSOR: 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4000+ or equivalent (For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62 or equivalent) MEMORY: At least 2 GB RAM 

HARD DRIVE: At least 9 GB of free space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games 

DVD-ROM: DVD ROM drive required for installation only

There's no info if there will be a console version or not.

    Hello,

    As Linux is getting stronger thanks to Valve and Steam and as there are many Linux users being forced to play their games on Windows - I wonder if EA is going to support Linux alongside Windows and Mac? I think it would be gorgeous being able to play The Sims 4 on Linux.

    As much as Linux may lack users, it certainly doesn’t lack gamers, that can be shown by Humble Indie Bundles, several Kickstarter projects, or even Steam. Also, there are new gaming computers from Alienware with Ubuntu preinstalled and new Linux platform will be soon available: Valve's gaming console.

    About one and half year ago EA had their session on Ubuntu Developer Summit talking about their expansion to Linux platform. Except for two web launchers to their games available on Ubuntu Software Center, there hasn’t been much other commitment visible. Maybe it is great time to give Linux users a chance and support Linux expansion as the platform is more ready then it ever was.

    I know that my sims 3 isn't operable with Windows 8, but will there be bug fixes and patches in the sims 4 that will allow me to continue to play my beloved sims when sims 4 is released????!!!!????

    Will The Sims 4 be available for mac? Because I read on the sims 4 website that it will be availabe on pc platform. I saw nothiong for mac.

    Origin Won't work on my computer and I want to know when Sims 4 will be  able to be pre-ordered on steam because that works on  my computer.

    P.S it told me to pick and i did so this isn't about Battlefeild 4 freeplay.

    What platform is The Sims 4 going to  be available on? I've played The Sims 3 on my Mac, but as of right now I don't see any information if The Sims 4 will be available on Mac.

    Hi;

    I would like to precommand The sims 4 on origin, but it says that is a PC only version... That the sims 4 will be available for Mac ? If yes, will i be able to precommande the deluxe digital version ? Sorry for my english, i usualy speak french :/

    Not sure what you're asking.

    There are many people playing Sims 3 on Windows 8. It is compatible with most Windows 8 computers. If you have issues, you should make a post in the Sims 3 forum.

    You can still play Sims 3 when Sims 4 comes out but you can't transfer Sims.

    If that's not what you're asking, please rephrase.

    They said at the German producer info that it will be Mac/PC but they're concentrating on the PC version atm and are not saying anything about MACs. So it's unclear if it will be native mac or if will be like Sims 3.

    We have to wait on more info on that.
