spicylibra This sounds like your antivirus might be blocking changes to the user folder. OneDrive could do that as well, if it's locking up during the syncing process, although that's less likely. There's a bug thread for various AV-related symptoms here:

Thanks for the suggestion. I already ruled out antivirus and folder-access blocking.
Windows Security shows no ransomware or Controlled Folder Access restrictions, and I also performed a full clean reinstall of the game, removed the entire Sims 4 folder from Documents, regenerated a fresh user folder, and tested both brand-new saves and older backups with no mods present. The Error Code 21 save failure still occurs in every case.

if its onedrive how do i fix it? i suspect onedrive because i disabled it right before the latest update
